Rosie the Riveter is an American cultural icon. She represents all those women who worked on armament factories during World War Two, making possible the production of the endless material needed to win the war.
The importance of these women is sometimes underestimated. Besides their invaluable effort in wartime, they marked the start of two important phenomena without which we wouldn’t understand the modern world: the implementation of war economy methods to enhance industrial mass production and the incorporation of the women to job market.
For our bust, we took inspiration on diverse propaganda materials from the era, giving her also a touch of Pin-up aesthetic.
