“Smile!” said the elf photographer. Corpachón was really satisfied with the catch, and the picture was going to look really nice hanged on the wall of the Demon Hunters’s guildhouse, but now he just wanted to go home, take a shower and go and see Bonnie a bit later.
Being an ogre as handsome as him always meant trouble. Since he was a kid, females of all sorts and races had fallen desperately in love with him. He also was a ladies’ man so you can imagine the result. Three divorces after, the only thing he wanted in life was to settle down.
He always had dreamed of a scenic career that would adequately showcase his beauty, even making it to the new industry of “images in motion” that the gnomes had set in Holyburrow. He had the potential to be a star for sure!
Instead of that, the three expensive alimonies he had to pay every month forced him to choose the humble but not less important career of demon bounty hunter. Demons normally ventured in our plane of existence attracted by garbage or unattended food. They were normally peaceful while you allow them to roam freely but sometimes they got nasty. So, when he got the message of a Grade 4 entity ransacking the trash cans in the Merchants’ quarter, he knew he was in for some hard work and a nice reward too.
The demon was as slow as clumsy but one single blow from him would have been enough to crash Corpachón into pieces. Finishing him with a few precise cuts of his battle axe had been a routine thing but you had to be careful and follow the procedures every time, no matter how predictable the creature. Last time he forgot about it, his left leg was lost forever…
In any case, it was worth all the troubles, as the he reward should be more than enough to finally be able to take Bonnie to that romantic trip to the Orc Riviera. Maybe it was the right time to ask her to marry him… After all, he knew that Bonnie was the right one for him.
