This is the first branded oil wash I have used, and it is fantastic.
The 35 ml bottle goes far, and has a wide range of uses. I have used it to darken the inner rings of chainmail, the folds of clothing, the scales of a dragon, the beard of a dwarf, the gaps between paving stones, and the cracks between bark on trees. It's a nice alternative to plain black or GW's 'Nuln oil' because it's a more natural patina colour, in my opinion.
When they say it is dark brown, yes - be careful of applying it heavily or in multiple coats. If you are only trying to create contrast, even lightly brushing over an already painted surface to get into a recess / crevice will darken your existing paint job.
I'd recommend keeping an extra paintbrush / absorbing tissue in hand while you use it, cleaning up an overpaint needs to happen quickly (technically you can use mineral spirits to get rid of it, but this can pull ALL the paint off, as I've experienced).
The final result will be slightly darker than the original application, so I also recommend waiting quite a while before deciding to apply more.
Having a blast with this though, my lack of patience and experience with oil-based products was only downside.
