Description

Stunningly detailed kit of Erwin Rommel's mammoth AEC Armoured Command Vehicle.

Germany's Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) captured several British-built armoured command vehicles (ACVs) during fighting around the Libyan village of al-Makhili including that of Lt-Gen Sir Richard O'Connor in April 1941. That vehicle and another one of the massive bus-sized vehicles were adapted for use by the legendary DAK commander Erwin Rommel and nicknamed Max and Moritz for mischievous boys from German literature.

This kit features a multi-part frame with armored exterior, latch and bolt detail, detailed drivers and cabin interior with (seats, radio equipment, Enigma cipher machine, receiver, transmitter, field telephone, table, maps and more), jerry cans, antenna, optional extended or rolled tarps, wood textured floor and cabin walls, optional hatches, detailed driveline with exhaust system and rubber tires, separately molded on-vehicle tools, and photo-etch. Decals and markings for three vehicles.

  • Doors and hatches are posable.
  • Can be built with removable roof to view detailed interior
  • Photo-etch set

This is a large and very impressive kit with an extraordinary level of detail included.
